“What was she like… my mum? When the two of you traveled together.”
“Fantastic.”
“You sound like my dad. Although I suppose, in some wonky way, you are my father.”
He doesn’t respond but studies her face. Rose’s features. His past face’s coloring. His observation is interrupted.
“Mum would love River- sassy that one. But she’d be proper jealous too.”
“You must never cross universes again. Do you know how much danger you’ve put yourself and the entire planet-“
“I just figured you would’ve liked to meet me.”
Silently, he studies her face once more. There she was standing in front of him; living evidence of his love for a companion long gone.
“It’s time for you to go home.”

“Your mum’s picking up your grandparents from the airport. I still don’t understand why Jackie doesn’t want to use the TARDIS.” Her father, her real father, looks up from the paper he’s reading and looks at her. “Donna. Donna. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, I just… I’m just happy to be home.”
